Startups Advance Forward

Forging Ahead: 17 Startups Advance to Block 2 in Lisk’s African Blockchain Incubator

Following an incredible first phase of the Lisk and CV Labs African Blockchain Incubator, we are thrilled to announce that 17 startups have successfully advanced to Block 2 after an exciting Demo Day. This marks a pivotal moment in the program as these teams move closer to scaling their blockchain solutions and making a significant impact on industries across Africa.

Reflecting on Demo Day

On Demo Day, 23 ambitious startups presented their progress and future visions to an esteemed panel of judges. The energy and innovation were palpable as each team showcased how they are integrating blockchain technology into their unique solutions.

From blockchain-powered event management to offline financial transactions, the diversity and creativity in problem-solving were remarkable. However, only 17 of these innovative startups have been selected to progress into Block 2, where they will continue refining their products and preparing for broader market implementation.

The Startups Moving Forward

While all the teams impressed us with their ingenuity and passion, 17 stood out with their strong technical foundations, market readiness, and clear ability to scale their solutions effectively. The excitement among the founders was evident. The selection criteria centred on each startup’s ability to solve real-world challenges, tap into scalable markets, and integrate Lisk’s blockchain effectively. The 17 teams moving forward, including Snarkhealth, Aquapurge, and HealthAi, demonstrated exceptional readiness and vision for impact. Advancing into Block 2 are Snarkhealth, Blockroll, Aquapurge, TrendX, Tata-iMali, Egreen, Nomachain, Jamit, HostIt, Redswan, Shamba Data, Pokecoin, StreamLivr, OffConnectX, HealthAi, Universel, and Afrikabal.

Fiona from HealthAi expressed her joy: “Wow, awesome team. Thanks so much for the great news!!! I'm thrilled to be a part of this program and to have been given the opportunity to progress with all of you wonderful people and to keep learning!!”

Ibrahim from Aquapurge echoed this sentiment: “On behalf of the Aquapurge team, we’re excited to be a part of Block 2! Looking forward to the kick-off.”

Tejiri from Afrikabal added: “We’re absolutely thrilled to hear that Afrikabal has been selected to continue into Block 2. It’s been an amazing journey so far, and we’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to keep pushing forward with the support of the Lisk Incubation Hub.”.

What Lies Ahead in Block 2

Each of the 17 startups will receive a $4,000 USD grant to continue developing their solutions and prepare for the next phase of the incubator. This funding will enable the teams to enhance their products while further receiving additional mentorship, feedback, and support.

Block 2 promises to be even more engaging, with a personalised, one-on-one approach tailored to each startup’s specific needs. Whether it’s deepening their Lisk integration, refining marketing strategies, or improving product-market fit, we are committed to helping each startup navigate its unique challenges.

In addition to individual guidance, Block 2 will feature keynote speakers, fireside chats, and focused sessions to ensure startups are prepared for broader market success. With this combination of mentorship and community support, the 17 teams moving forward are well-positioned to make a significant impact across their respective industries.

Looking Ahead

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the startups that have made it through and express our admiration for all the participants who shared their progress with us on Demo Day. The journey is far from over, and we can’t wait to see how these teams continue to thrive in the next phase of the incubator program.
